MortgageHippo Joins Catapult

MortgageHippo is dedicated to giving the homebuyer an exceptional mortgage experience. The MortgageHippo platform breaks down the mortgage process into easy-to-follow steps and questions, helping borrowers make important financial decisions along the way. Their algorithms capture millions of variations to deliver a highly personalized experience to each borrower and match them with a loan from a partner-lender that fits their needs.

We are proud to welcome MortgageHippo to the Catapult community.

In 2013, co-founders Valentin Saportas and Michael Salichs set out to fix a mortgage process that was sorely in need of an overhaul. They are making the mortgage experience for homebuyers simple, transparent, and efficient, and they are just getting started. They currently get between 6,000 to 10,000 borrowers from all 50 states using their platform each month and have pre-approved nearly $100 million in loan volume through their website in the last year.

The MortgageHippo team is made up of a diverse group of individuals, from business consultants and lawyers to developers and designers, hailing from several different countries. They have moved into Catapult a group of 5, but have already added a new developer and are looking to grow their team this year.

“We are honored to be a part of the Catapult community,” said Valentin. “The other startups here are all doing great things and we are already learning a lot from each other’s experiences. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to move into Catapult.”

The feeling is mutual. “The MortgageHippo group is so enthusiastic about mortgages. It’s obvious they love what they are doing and are doing it right,” said April Lane, Catapult’s Executive Director. “We are excited to have this dedicated team join our community.”
